Improve Your Smile with Veneers

Although the term “cosmetic dentistry” may make you think of sparkling, straight teeth, you may not realize that the procedures your dentist performs to improve the look of your smile can also enhance your oral health.

One such popular cosmetic dentistry procedure is veneers. Like a dental crown, veneers offer non-cosmetic advantages as well. Dr. Marlisa Popper, Dr. Jason Popper, and Dr. Howard Popper offer veneers as one of an abundance of services available to their patients.

As with every procedure they perform, the Popper Dental family offers expert care with a gentle touch.

Veneers benefit your smile in more ways than one

Veneers are paper-thin shells that cover the front surface of your teeth. Typically made from porcelain, they’re custom made for each patient and created to precisely match a person’s unique tooth tone.

Veneers cover a multitude of tooth sins, including:

In addition to making your smile prettier, however, dental veneers are protective.

Veneers seal off what’s left of your real tooth and prevent bacteria from entering. This way, decay can’t start harming your tooth, which may already be vulnerable because it’s cracked, chipped, or otherwise damaged. Ditto for helping to keep bacteria out of gaps.

By protecting your teeth from the harmful effects of bacteria — plaque and tartar buildup — you’re not only safeguarded from cavities, but from gingivitis and more serious gum disease

If you get veneers due to having damaged enamel, they help to strengthen your teeth while taking the place of your missing enamel.

What’s the process of getting veneers like?

Many might assume that getting veneers is laborious or uncomfortable. We can dispel those concerns because today’s veneer production and application methods are highly advanced.

The first thing your dentist needs to do is remove enamel from your teeth with a grinding tool. This process creates a surface that your veneers adhere to easily.

After this process, we take an impression of your teeth. This mold is delivered to a lab so they can custom-make your veneers.

When the veneers are delivered to us, we etch the underside of them and place them directly on your teeth. Then we bond them to your teeth with a strong adhesive. The process is straightforward, totally tailored to you, and comfortable.

There’s lots to love about veneers

Our patients who receive veneers can’t say enough good things about them. They’re durable and last up to 15 years, repel stains, brighten and whiten your smile, and are so natural looking — a total win.
