If your teeth are discolored or stained, we encourage you to look into teeth whitening.

Am I a candidate for teeth whitening?
In a general sense, those with all permanent teeth and good dental health are candidates for teeth whitening. Teeth whitening is especially ideal for those with yellowish teeth. If you have brownish or grayish teeth, keep in mind that they may not bleach as well. Those with tender or receding gums may want to choose another option, as they may be sensitive to the bleaching product. Also, be aware that dental restorations like dental fillings and dental crowns will not whiten like your natural teeth. Dr. Jason Popper can examine your teeth and let you know whether or not you are a good candidate for teeth bleaching.

What should I expect during an in-office teeth whitening treatment?
If you choose in-office whitening, the bleaching product is applied directly to your teeth. Results can be seen in just one, 30- to 60-minute bleaching treatment. It is important to keep in mind that you may need to undergo several whitening treatments to reach your desired results.

What if I choose take-home teeth whitening?
If you choose to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your home, Dr. Jason Popper will take an impression of your teeth so that a custom mouthguard can be made. The tray is worn with the whitening product as directed by our dentist. Typically, the whitening tray is worn for several hours a day or during the night for up to four weeks.
